mariedelices.com - Bonjour et bienvenue!

With the help of her team, she’s aiming to provide good, honest and fresh homemade food in a friendly environment. It took her almost 10 years to realise her dream and open her own little café dedicated to Brittany, here in Edinburgh. After general business and catering management studies, she made apprenticeships in bakery and pastry, went to work in Brittany and then made an additional training in crepes to discover this great culinary patrimony in the pure traditional way.

We specialise in typical Breton crepes and galettes freshly made to order, freshly baked cakes and other treats from our kitchen and we prepare fresh sandwiches, soups and salads different everyday.

All this in a friendly, cosy and antique atmosphere, with my family furniture, a special handmade Breton crockery edition and French books and magazines to browse, all imported from France.

We offer Breton crepes and galettes, soups, salads, sandwiches, cakes, scones and other delicacies.

The crockery is a special handmade edition from Quimper in Brittany, with traditional Breton costumes painted on each piece, but made in a very modern way, which makes them very special.

food

Visiting Maison Bleue Le Bistrot feels like stepping into arty Montmartre without ever leaving conservative Morningside.

This corner café-cum-bistro is the sister restaurant of Maison Bleue on Victoria Street and shares a number of dishes and culinary influences with its sibling.

The focus is on French food across a range of set, à la carte and table d’hote menus, but with influences from North African, Creole and Vietnamese cuisines.

Expect to find French classics such as moules a la Bretonne, lapin de moutarde and boeuf bourgignon rubbing shoulders with lamb tagine, saffron couscous, seafood gumbo and marinated Saigon beef.

Scottish cooking is represented by dishes such as deep-fried haggis balls and venison carpaccio, and puddings follow a similar mode with crème brûlée sitting next to sticky toffee pudding and crumble on the menu.

An ideal pit stop for walkers, locals and families offering fresh, lovingly prepared food in a picturesque situation.

Situated in Colinton, a southwest Edinburgh suburb surrounded by mature and ancient woodland, The Pantry is a picturesque pit-stop for walkers and locals.

Inside the historic building, the bright, spacious dining area features Scandi-style décor – neutral tones against colourful soft furnishings and cookbooks.

The original Stockbridge branch ethos remains, to provide simple, fresh, lovingly prepared food.

Parents can enjoy this deliciousness over adult conversation, while the kids entertain themselves in their own dedicated play area.
