Having struggled with other delivery pizzas in Edinburgh where contamination is not guaranteed, what a find is nkd pizza!
This pizza takeaway / delivery does full-on gluten free pizza with no contamination!
Even more exciting is that the gluten free pizza is crisp, delicious and is made with care using the best ingredients.
The people at nkd had already told me that, unlike others, the gluten free pizza is prepared and cooked separately from the “normal” ones, ensuring no contamination.
There are offers available and my gluten eating student was immediately impressed by the prices, saying it is better value than many of the mainstream pizza delivery firms.

From street food pizza joints to gourmet seafood bars, these brand new places are well worth a visit.
Newly opened on South Clerk Street, Diablo Loco is a Mexican bar, serving up authentic street food and an eclectic cocktail menu.
Expect tacos, tequila and margaritas galore from this new venture by Signature Pubs, who also own popular Edinburgh bars like Badger & Co, Element, and Heads & Tales.
As well as classic steak dishes and over 200 Argentinian wines, the menu will also feature a Scottish influence, with dishes such as haggis empanadas, made using locally sourced produce.
NKD Pizza’s first Scottish restaurant, which opened recently in Morningside, serves up freshly made pizzas with their signature 10 grain base.

Local entrepreneur Grant Clouston is set to open the first NKD Pizza franchise in the UK in the city’s Morningside area, after returning from working in Dubai’s oil and gas sector and discovering there was nothing similar to the popular chain in the capital.
“I didn’t want to go down the traditional takeaway pizza route, so I got in touch with NKD Pizza and secured the rights to Scotland.
The firm, which are famous for their NKD Tomato Sauce, Ancestral Blend dough and fresh ingredients, already have stores in Dubai and the US but this will be their first in Scotland.
Clouston believes NKD’s attitude towards carefully sourced ingredients, and the fact that their hand-made ‘healthier’ dough is made from an ancestral blend of 10 grains, prebiotic agave fibre and probiotics (healthful bacteria like the ones found in yogurt for balance and digestive health), and bound by water, will quickly win over the capital’s pizza fans.

US and Dubai pizza brand NKD (as in ‘naked’) Pizza have opened their first European takeaway in the Morningside area of Edinburgh this week.
I got a sneak peek last week to find out more about their unique selling point (the dough), see the full pizza range and most importantly, give them a taste (not forgetting the chicken wings which are also delicious!)
So this makes the pizzas healthier and therefore more guilt-free than average.
Not only that but all the pizzas bar one can be made gluten-free as well.
