Amy and I went to Market Street for an evening of cocktails.
It was a vicious evening so it was pleasant to be inside with warming, boozy concoction.
Amy stuck to a rum theme for the evening.
Amy’s second, El Cantinero, was very interesting: coffee, mint, lime and rum.
Plump, delicious, and as good with Martini as they are with champagne To warm the cockles, I had a Bone Dry Martini.

Now the word on the street is that the Leith Chop House is the place to eat right now in Edinburgh and having heard SO many good reports about the restaurant and eyeing up the menu online, I decided that one way or another I had to find out more about Edinburgh’s latest venture by The Compass Group (Sygn, Montieths and The WestRoom) that has taken not only the Shore by storm, but the whole of the city – given the number of positive stories I had heard about it.
Located on Constitution Street at the Shore in arguably Edinburgh’s best eating and dining district; home to a growing number of award winning restaurants and bars as well as a some pretty big name Michelin Star restaurants, the Leith Chop House, fits in perfectly with it’s neighbours.
Beef is from top end suppliers – Burnside Of Balhaldie’s award winning Highland Wagyu, Hardiesmill Farm’s prime Aberdeen Angus and Shaws Fine Meats, who source from several small Scottish farms.
The Leith Chop House is the first restaurant in the UK to use one.
The pictures speak for themselves, it was super tender, the knife slide through the meat and it was melt in the mouth.

The 2018 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £7.95 (+ ).
The usual cuts (sirloin, ribeye, fillet) are cooked to melt-in-your-lucky-mouth perfection, and can be paired with inventive yet familiar sides such as sesame slaw and dripping chips.
There are sharing cuts for couples (or extra hungry singles), with the likes of chateaubriand and porterhouse priced by weight.
The gooey brownie and orange sponge won't disappoint, while the cheese menu is as wide-ranging as the after-dinner cocktail list.
The atmosphere is relaxed, the bar is well-stocked and the service as impeccable as the food.

The original Chop House (there’s a second, smaller restaurant at The Arches) is located in Leith, an area that has seen much regeneration over the last few years and is now a popular alternative to the city centre for dining and drinking.
My perception of Chop House has always been of it being a ‘cool’ place to go.
I was pleased to discover that Chop House was on the right side of the line for me.
Everyone was casually dressed – I’m a jeans and Converse girl, it’s nice to dress up, but sometimes you just want to go eat steak in your favourite jeans with your favourite boy (or girl) and not have to worry about whether you can fit in dessert for fear of your belly bulging out of your dress.
Chop House lived up to expectation and the price, it’s everything you want in a steak house, and nothing you don’t.
