Time 4 Thai

Time 4 Thai

Time 4 Thai is a stylish, contemporary Thai restaurant ideally situated close to George Street and a very short walk from Princes Street.

Since opening its doors to customers in 2005, Time 4 Thai has successfully established itself as a firm favourite on the Thai dining scene for both residents and tourists alike.

Whereas Time 4 Thai’s sister restaurant, Thai Lemongrass, tends to be more of a homely local eatery, Time 4 Thai is definitely a big city venue.

All the dishes are a meal in itself, reasonably priced and are perfect for customers who don’t have much time on their hand but would still like to enjoy delicious and freshly prepared authentic Thai food.

Overall, Time 4 Thai is aiming to bring authentic Thai cuisine and genuine Thai hospitality to the UK.

We’ve been eating a fair amount of Thai food, lately, but I’d had a recommendation that this place was worth a visit, so I was confident that we’d find some interesting dishes to consider on the menu.

We tottered down to try a Chinese place which was shut, and ended up going out for Thai food, for the second time in as many days.

Whenever I order a salad at a Thai place, I am reminded why I love their use of flavours.

Once again, these were very pretty dishes that did justice to the Thai melding of flavours to create a whole mouthful of taste.

New Town customers get a bit of luxury, miles away from trendy, low-key Thai street food.

Making the most of its elegant New Town townhouse setting, Time 4 Thai enjoys treating its customers to a bit of luxury and over-indulgence, the cool, neatly appointed design miles away from the low-key Thai street food venues elsewhere in town.

Engaging and unusual options nestle up again traditional favourites – deep savoury, shredded pork neck is joined by lightly seasoned chicken satay as a generous starter.

A warm salad with sirloin or chicken breast drizzled with a spicy sauce and languishing with lemongrass and scallions makes a super interlude before facing up to rich mains.

Breathe deep and enjoy being pampered.

A talented chef and a showman – he’s been on the telly – Greenaway brings both professionalism and fun to fine dining.

The theatrical aspect of Greenaway’s craft can kick in early – a salmon amuse bouche housed in a ceramic egg and served in an egg carton for instance.

A signature starter is crab cannelloni with smoked cauliflower custard, lemon pearls, baby coriander, beetroot mayo – and herbed butter playing a surprise role.

The long-running signature main is 11-hour, slow-roast belly pork, a dish that has been tweaked over the years but it might come with pork cheek, blackened fillet, sweetcorn and toffee apple jus.

A typical dessert could be white chocolate sponge with blueberry gel, lemon curd, ice cream and poppy seed tuille.
