New in Food: Wildmanwood, BRGR, Norn & more - The Skinny

They proudly state that none of their food contains any refined sugar, dairy, or gluten; that hasn't stopped PB from putting together an intriguing menu of breakfast, lunch and snack options.

The fixed four- or seven-course menu will feature the best of seasonal Scottish produce, while a three-course lunch option allows you to check out Norn without breaking the bank.

50 Henderson St. Eagerly slotting into the void left by the dearly-departed Wannaburger (RIP, your cajun fries will be sorely missed), BRGR offers a cost-effective and laid-back option amid Edinburgh's continued love affair with the red meat sandwich.

There's a huge range of options – including a halloumi and veg patty described by our resident office veggie as, ahem, "fucking amazing" – and with all their burgers costing just £4 from Monday to Friday, BRGR are a great shout for a delicious lunch that won't leave you weeping at the cash machine.

6 Dean St. A new joint from the team behind Bruntsfield's Three Birds and Apiary in the Southside, Educated Flea on Broughton Street presents an interesting pan-global menu.

In such times where the sheer volume of restaurants advertising the prospect of ‘proper burgers’ makes one long for an improper burger, another eatery offering a seemingly similar aesthetic may seem like overkill.

Somehow however, this is not the case with BRGR.

They have figured out a formula of delivering good, no-nonsense fast-food: the grub is plentiful, delicious and, most importantly, very reasonably priced, with burgers averaging around five or six pounds.

There is no shortage of selection in exchange for this modest charge: burgers come in a plethora of interesting varieties sure to please all tastes and sides and sauces come thick and fast.

Whatever you have planned for your day, you can be sure that BRGR can offer a convenient, delicious and financially merciful method of re-fuelling.

Nicolson Street's BRGR is typically filled with students enjoying a cheap juicy burger and thick, luxurious milkshakes.

The 2017/18 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £5.95 (+ ).

The fourth branch of BRGR is a bustling diner on Nicholson Street.

There’s often a queue outside, but that’s nothing the quick turnaround can't handle (a student crowd marches in for £4 selected burgers Monday-Friday and £5 selected burgers on the weekends).

Talk about hangover heaven: the burgers arrive in brioche buns with thin patties of halal beef or panko- breadcrumbed chicken, lettuce, a non-descript BRGR sauce and a pickle, all wrapped up in foil.

With a new burger place opening what feels like weekly we are good for burgers…there is no room in the city for anymore and with the city expecting 3 (yes THREE) Five Guys in the coming months, A Gourmet Burger, a Handmand Burger and whatever else opens up locally we need no more.

BRGR (Yes I hate the name too) is exactly what you would expect now of a new burger bar – Lots of faux reclaimed style stuff, simple wooden benches, basic tables and on trend lighting.

I probably wouldn’t order another boozy milkshake but I would definitely order one of their normal vanilla milkshake as it did taste great, just not boozy.

Unfortunately they forgot to add the BBQ sauce and BRGR relish it to my burger which I didn’t realise until I was more or less finished and at that point there seemed little point in asking for any, if I’d realised straight away I would of sent it back.

I would say though that the things I didn’t like about this place were down to personal taste so definitely worth popping in to try  if you were passing and in the mood for a burger.

BRGR Glasgow on Great Western Road injects a dose of meaty intoxication into Glasgow's burger scene.

Specialising in nothing but power pattys, BRGR knocks up huge tasty messes of beef, chicken and all manner of meaty eats.

Big on flavour, honing tender meats and all about bigger being better, the BRGR spirit is one of juicy daydreams.

Whether you've come for the magic milkshakes a big boy burger, or some of their notorious sides you can count on locally sourced ingredients and some hearty Scottish soul.
