Somewhere between an American diner and a traditional Italian chip shop the City Restaurant has been serving a wide menu of classic "greasy spoon" style food to Edinburgh patrons for decades.
Rich red leather booths line the walls which are decorated with some fascinating black and white pictures of Edinburgh.
Whether you want classic fish and chips, grilled steak, or some tasty pizza or pasta you will not be disappointed.
Bar Soba Merchant City Restaurant Review Glasgow | DesignMyNight
menu food drinks
Bar Soba Merchant city just happens to be the newest venue of this popular chain in Glasgow, and I was there to give the menu a good seeing to.
Whether you choose to sit in the main section of the venue with its high ceiling, ambient lighting, and graffiti-like murals on the walls (all nodded towards cool, contemporary Eastern culture), or out in the covered square pretending that Glasgow’s weather allows for al fresco dining, you’ll be comfortable in this chilled out place.
It is also possible to get sharing platters and there is a good selection of vegetarian and gluten free options making this a great place to bring any group of people.
Bar Soba truly provided the perfect mix of relaxed but top quality dining on fresh and exciting dishes in the city centre; and there is clearly something here for any palate and dietary requirement.
It certainly caters to larger groups but is also a great place to come with a friend for a catch up over their extensive drinks menu.
