In the site of the former beloved pizza joint Tutto Matto, Pizza Posto is in a perfect location just across from the Festival Theatre.

With a stripped down menu, Pizza Posto offers just 8 pizzas, but wow were they tasty.

I ordered myself the number 5 – tomato sugo, mozzarella, spicy Italian salami and olive oil.

I would have liked a little less crust on my pizza, with the topping actually reaching the crust rather than a bit of empty base but that was really my only negative.

On the other side of the table, my friend was also enjoying her pizza.

Pizza Posto creates eight authentically simple Neapolitan pizzas alongside a handful of salads and starters.

Popular Pizza Posto, just across the road from the Festival Theatre, is one of a handful of new eateries focusing on value for money with pared-down menus.

Expect a soft bubbly base with thick crusts and toppings such as ham and mushroom, which although a little less flavoursome than the Italian salami-topped option, comes with big globs of mozzarella and plenty of long-stemmed mushrooms.

If you’re looking for more than just pizza, there’s a handful of starters, sides and salads.

The antipasto with mozzarella, ham and cured meat and roast veg is generous and a focaccia garlic bread is pretty good.
