Byron North Bridge (29–31 North Bridge, Edinburgh) | The List

A prime location on the corner of the Royal Mile and a sleek refit that pays homage to the history of the old bank building it inhabits have set the tone for Byron to make good on its promise to ‘do one thing, and do it well’.

The signature recipe of four cuts of British beef produces a juicy and flavor-packed burger that’s accompanied by the kind of classic condiments which really satisfy your cravings – American BBQ sauce, crisp onion rings, chipotle mayo, tangy pickles and a choice of cheeses, wrapped in a soft bun that took 38 recipe attempts to perfect.

There’s a good selection for less carnivorous guests, a revolving menu of craft beers and ludicrously long milkshakes you can upgrade with bourbon, Baileys or rum.

Properly sourced British beef, ground fresh into 6oz patties and cooked medium so it's pink and juicy and served in a squishy bun with a pickle on the side.

Fries, sides, extra-thick milkshakes and craft beers round things off.

Byron celebrate Burns with the Calvin Haggis | Foodie Explorers

For the second year running Byron restaurants in Scotland are serving up a special limited-edition burger to celebrate Burns Night (or should that be ‘week’?)

The Calvin Haggis features a 6oz hamburger patty, haggis, bacon and onion relish, a tattie scone, American cheese, dry-cured bacon, a fried egg and blanched white onions, with a dollop of Byron sauce.

Here’s what’s under the soft glazed bun bonnet… I’m a fan of Byron’s burgers and this was a huge juicy burger topped with ingredients, it’s breakfasty in nature with the tattie scone and fried egg (which was cooked soft) in addition to the haggis, which works for me as I love breakfast anytime of the day!

+ Mac n cheese balls were great + Really filling haggis burger + Secret Irn-Bru shake was a pleasant surprise!

+ Convenient central locations for Aberdeen and Edinburgh + Staff were friendly and helpful All Byron restaurants in Scotland.

Here are the results… Enjoy the cosy and relaxed atmosphere, perfect for a weekend pint and over 20 different burger combinations including buffalo and haloumi.

For a delectable burger, delicious drink and a party atmosphere close to George Street, look no further than the Boozy Cow.

Try the mouth-watering maple bacon cheese burger, perfectly paired with a vodka infused chocolate, coffee and vanilla shake, or one of the ever-changing drinks flavour specials.

This slightly off the beaten track venue is tucked away near the Royal Mile, and is the perfect venue to enjoy a few craft beers in a laid back environment with a gourmet burger and crunchy fries.

The atmosphere is lively and the burgers are tasty, and can be customised to your own preferences with an extensive range of toppings, as well as salads and vegetarian options.
