After a dreadfully disappointing high tea at The Caledonian we didn’t really have high expectations going into Balmoral Afternoon Tea, but OH MY GOODNESS, was it incredible!

Review: Balmoral Afternoon Tea Edinburgh: Go straight through the lobby and at the back you’ll find Palm Court.

The Balmoral Afternoon Tea is one of the best I’ve ever had.

I always choose the tea associated with the establishment I’m trying out, and The Balmoral KILLED it with their Royal Scottish Balmoral blend.

My parents are crazy for Afternoon Tea, and I think they did half dozen on this trip and the Balmoral couldn’t even be mentioned with the others…it was just in a league of its own.

This is a formal afternoon tea with a sense of occasion, including impeccable silver service under a Venetian crystal chandelier, palm trees and a harp playing gently in the background.

A deliciously eccentric antique shop and tea room combined, Anteaques has lace tablecloths, a vast choice of fascinating teas and home-made cakes and scones.

Afternoon tea with chicory, pear and blue cheese salad?

A glorious neoclassical library is the superb setting for a particularly generous afternoon tea.

Palm Court at The Balmoral, Edinburgh – Contemporary ...

Set within the heart of The Balmoral, Edinburgh locals have enjoyed the tradition of Palm Court‟s award-winning afternoon tea since 1902.

Palm Court was fully refurbished in September 2013 modernising the room into a light and airy Afternoon Tea lounge.

Subtle local references are made throughout the decor such as the thistle patterned sofa material named „Edinburgh‟ by Bernard Thorpe.

Contemporary tonal greys are contrasted by splashes of dynamic bright blue whilst the traditional colonial palm trees inject a flash of green.

A mix of table styles offers the flexibility of traditional seating and more informal casual dining throughout the room.
