Some one with mental illness's are still entitled to have a life have some food and enjoy them self but according to the staff here he was not getting served.

Maybe the staff should be able to accept all walks off life in to there bar instead off judging some one on their appearance or the way they came across.

All he wanted was a pint with his food.

And for the reasons above I will never attend or even come in to contact with this bar because I am disgusted at the discrimina n my dad has faced.

How ever my dad came in not that long ago with my brother and his dog to get some food and a pint of lager.

While you can eat yourself silly on the same gourmet burgers, Canadian poutine and maple syrup drenched sweet potato fries you know and love from the Glasgow restaurant, there are a few unique items on the menu at the Edinburgh branch.

Tucked on the corner of St Stephen Street, the small, simply decorated restaurant serves gourmet burgers that rival the flashier players on the Edinburgh burger scene and blow the big chains out of the water.

Run by the same team behind the critically acclaimed Kitchin restaurant in Leith, what’s on the menu at The Scran & Scallie in Stockbridge is probably the closest thing you’ll find to a Michelin starred burger in Edinburgh.

Here at WOW247 Edinburgh we know all too well that a lot of smaller but popular Edinburgh restaurants have an against-all-odds, David and Goliath-style backstory, and we think something similar might be on the cards for Wee Burger Kitchen.

Not long opened on Nicolson Street, this casual restaurant is serving up handmade gourmet burgers at seriously low prices and many Edinburgh locals have already dubbed it the best burger in the city.

Bennets Bar | Bars and pubs in Marchmont, Edinburgh

A historic, ornate pub with a ‘jug bar’ – what used to be a separate section for women and children An old-time, good quality throwback to the days when Scottish pubs used to feature a ‘family department’, Bennet’s Bar in Tollcross has an intact ‘jug bar’ - an area women and children could slip into through a separate door and stay unseen by the menfolk, obviously in no mood for distraction from the serious business of drinking.

Bennet’s jug bar is particularly beautiful with ornate stained glass and a dainty serving hatch.

It’s earned a good reputation for its selection of craft beers and real ales, and also stocks a large range of single malt whiskies.

The King’s Theatre next door means it fills up fast at pre-theatre and curtain-down times, and its big screen TV showing rugby matches in the corner means it draws a big crowd of sport fans on certain weekends too.

Food is available too, including local pies, hearty stovies and sandwiches, as well as a children’s menu, vegetarian and gluten-free options.

The Killer Restaurant | Restaurants in Marchmont, Edinburgh

The literal offspring of the Kismot restaurant across town (Kismot remains a mom and pop operation while their kids have the run of this place), The Killer is named after its most famous menu item: The Killer Curry, a scorchingly hot dish you have to sign a disclaimer to eat.

The rest of the menu follows suit, with sections to appeal to the thrill-seeking diner: you'll find your mains filed under The Healthiest, The Craziest and The Hottest, while even the more demure Starters menu features Roulette Pakora.
