Came here last night for my birthday after hearing great things from a few friends and I was not disappoint ed!

The drinks are all absolutely and the vibe was so relaxed but still lively- all in all an incredible wee nook!

Special mention to the beautiful bartender Sarah- her knowledge of drinks and cocktail recommenda on point and her chat was wonderful.

She really helped bring the great atmosphere to the night- we all had a lovely time and will most definitely be back!

The bar’s vintage Island Bar is very much at the heart of the bustling atmosphere on offer, not to mention the fantastic range of Scottish cask ales, the finest malt whisky and imported beers.

Offering the perfect location for a post work escape, enjoy a generous selection of fine spirits and craft beers or if you’re feeling adventurous, get involved in the medicinal-themed cocktail menu, it’s all a bit Blumenthal.

Like it’s sister venues, the cocktails are hugely impressive but The Last Word also provide an extensive selection of small batch spirits, wines and craft beers whilst also experimenting with techniques and ingredients to create truly unique mixers, Syrups and bitters, which are all made in-house.

Sitting on the corner of St Stephen’s Street and North West Circus Place, The Bailie Bar is every bit a part of the Stockbridge community as its cobbled streets.

As well as offering a range of premium spirits, beers and ciders the bar regularly holds diverse events such as; jogging clubs, knitting, baking, clothes swaps to encourage locals to patronize throughout week.

This colourful New Town tiki parlour isn't exactly subtle, but then that's not the point of these places.

Cocktails are fruity and fun; many pack a punch and most are served in the obligatory novelty drinking vessels - there are mugs shaped like Polynesian statues and plenty of paper umbrella.

There are a few more elegant drinks on the list, like the St. Germain Blossom, mix of elderflower liqueur with Sauvignon Blanc and hibiscus syrup, and there's also a good range of ale and wine if you're not in the mood for a citrus-coloured cocktail.

Because it's a bit apart from the main burst of bars and restaurants, it can be quiet on week nights, which has an impact on atmosphere.

Nothing here is ground-breaking, but it's a friendly, fun place with an upbeat atmosphere and doesn't take itself too seriously which is more than we can say about some of the swish bars on George Street.
