@Pizza, Charlotte Lane | Vegan Edinburgh Review

Review analysis
food

This new pizza place has just opened up in Edinburgh’s West End, but it’s got its vegan game nailed right off the bat with vegan cheese available from its very first day of opening – great news for vegan pizza lovers!

There are two ways you can go about ordering your pizza at @Pizza – you can either build your own from their wide range of toppings available (with vegan options clearly marked) or you can choose one of their pre-made combos, all of which can be veganised on request.

It certainly worked for me, the pizza was a good size and very satisfying, but I didn’t have the ‘food-baby’ effect that normally follows a pizza 😉 The vegan cheese they used was really nice as well.

It was grated and scattered on the pizza quite evenly, so it didn’t result in dollops of slime when heated, as can often be the case with vegan pizza.

@Pizza is a great place to go if you want good pizza fast.

Edinburgh's @pizza legally challenged by US pizza chain | The ...

@pizza (pronounced ‘at pizza’), a new Edinburgh restaurant claiming to produce ‘The World’s Fastest Pizza’, is entangled in legal allegations with the US &pizza chain for having copied design and product identity.

Unlike @pizza, which is opening on Saturday November 25 at Charlotte Lane in Edinburgh, &pizza (pronounced ‘and pizza’) first opened in Washington DC in 2012.

“As a result, @pizza is now the unremorseful and unauthorized copycat of &pizza, launching a knock-off chain of restaurants in the U.K.,” &pizza asserts in the lawsuit.

@pizza in Edinburgh is accused of having a too similar logo, shape of pizza and marketing strategies.

“We are confident that @pizza is making a bold new statement about what pizza can be and customers in Edinburgh can taste this first hand at our restaurant.”

@Pizza: the new restaurant making pizza in 90 seconds | The Student

Review analysis
food   ambience

Situated in Charlotte Lane, the western edge of Princes Street, @pizza is an urban and spacious ‘Millennial City’, offering a hip vibe, cutlery made from recycled vegetables and oval-shaped personalized pizzas that are ready for you in less than two minutes.

@pizza’s clean and cool atmosphere, contemporary black-and-white theme, and fast-cooking pizza made from locally sourced ingredients is clearly a carefully designed concept.

Neill Hunter says to The Student: “We have researched lots of fast, casual dining concepts both domestically and internationally because we love pizza.

We want you to eat fantastic, great-value, design-your-own pizza, served by people who we trust, who we love and who we are going to look after.”

I thoroughly enjoyed my 90 second pizza, and would highly recommend you take a trip to the restaurant.

New restaurant offering pizza 'in 90 seconds' to open in Edinburgh ...

A new pizza chain in Edinburgh is claiming to offer the world’s fastest pizza, serving up dishes in just 90 seconds.

@pizza is due to open in Charlotte Lane in Edinburgh and vows to ‘revolutionise the way we eat out’.

The restaurant will use fresh ingredients (many locally sourced), cooking them in just 90 seconds thanks to a specialised oven.

The speed of the pizza is due to the use of special doughs designed exclusively to cook the pizza as fast and as fresh as possible.

The new @pizza outlet is set to officially open Thursday November 23 at 12pm.

staff   facilities

@pizza makes pizza however you like it in 90 seconds, and the staff are among the friendliest I've encountered in the city!

A short walk from Princes Street, there are loads of busses that can take you with in easy reach of the restaurant.

You collect your pizza on a tray at the end and take it to your table, but I've never met such friendly staff, so I'm certain they would offer to carry it to your table for you should you require assistance.

The restaurant is super spacious, and there is a fantastic selection of seating (high and low seats), group tables, or benches which are great for individual use with plug sockets and USB ports.

Toilets are near the back of the restaurant in a kind of boxed alcove with a wide entrance.
