food

Back then it wasn’t a fashion or a trend; instead, it was a passion for the extraordinary flavours and tastes that food produced.

Living in Scotland we’re very fortunate to be surrounded by an abundance of people, producers and companies that have a huge amount of passion for the provenance of food and drink.

If you were abandoned on a desert island and could only take one Scottish product, what would it be and why?

Above its own charming street level bar, this West End bistro blends classic French cuisine with the best of Scotland’s larder.

At street level of this West End favourite is the pleasant Bar à Vin.

With a fine drinks list, it’s a good place to sit back and enjoy a glass of something special, perhaps with cheese fondue or some foie gras and pâtés.

Dive into steamed mussels in blue cheese, crème fraîche and parsley – thank goodness for the bread basket, because you’ll definitely want to dunk into that sauce.

The promising start continues with goat's cheese in filo pastry served with tapenade, olives and a salad dressed with basil vinaigrette.
