To go with my soup, I added a hummus, falafel and red pepper roll.

The selection of roll options was impressive, and they also had some pre-made for those in an even more considerable hurry than I. I had opted for red pepper and lentil soup, having rejected the secondary option of carrot and parsnip.

The excellent brown roll was filled with chick pea goodness that was full of fresh citrus tang.

The well roasted peppers and fresh salad leaves provided excellent further substance to what proved to be a highly enjoyable sequence of mouthfuls.

However, I feel the need to pay it another visit, so I can sample their coffee and perhaps a salad.

food

Bite me is a light and airy cafe and sandwich shop on Morrison Street in Edinburgh’s West End.

As well as breakfast rolls and granola/porridge pots, Bite Me offers a wide range of sandwiches and salads.

Many customers swear by hot melts such as the BBQ chicken with Swiss cheese, red onion and rocket.

There are always fresh soups and a hot dish of the day such as the chicken and chorizo stew or stovies.

Things you'll only know if you've lived in Cessnock - Glasgow Live

Review analysis
location   facilities   food

Cessnock isn't a big area in the south-side of Glasgow, but its famous architecture and Subway service give it plenty to be proud of.

But for Cessnock residents, regardless of their football allegiances, match days at Ibrox mean gridlocked roads, no parking on the streets, and queues snaking around the pavements as football fans wait to board packed Subway trains.

But hearing them shriek as they leave the Cessnock station that they want to 'do the grim stops first' before making their way into the west end, cannot but create some indignation in residents.

With lots of takeaways, pubs and restaurants all within a stone throw of the station, Cessnock arguably has a lot more going for it than some of the Subway's other stops.

Walmer Cresent, which sits proudly off Paisley Road West in the heart of Cessnock, is one of the finest examples of Glaswegian Victorian archietecture.
