The Lioness Of Leith

The Lioness of Leith

The Lioness of Leith

‘Lioness Burgers’ was born in early February 2018 out of the passion to deliver a real ‘gourmet’ burger menu to the locals of Leith.

Our beef is sourced from the award winning local butcher, Findlay’s of Portobello.

To compliment our menu we offer premium local and international drinks.

With our inventive and evolving cocktails list, award winning teas and coffee, you can be sure of quality, great taste and local sourcing whenever possible.

We won Ion Magazine’s Leith’s Best Bar in September 2014 and strive to be a favourite for locals and visitors alike.

Anyone who knows the bars of Leith knows the Lioness, a popular and versatile outpost in easy reach of Leith Walk, the Shore and Leith Links.

On a weekend night, the place is packed – a good range of craft beers and spirits, decent wine selection and impressive cocktail list draws customers with a wide range of tastes.

While the beautiful interior – a bright, open corner space which mixes original pub features with quirky decorations like arcade games and pinball machines – is enough to inspire a visit on its own, the recently upgraded food menu has also placed the Lioness among the best in the area.

Classic fish and chips, nachos or veggie/non-veggie breakfasts aside, the place is yet another beer and burger joint, but what burgers they are.

From the rich, cheese-smothered macaroni side to the revelatory halloumi chips, this is first-rate contemporary pub food.

The capital’s restaurant scene is one of the best in the UK and in winter time there can be few better ways to warm up than by grabbing a bite to eat and a cup of something warm.

Where to head at the weekend… The perfect way to escape those cold winter weekend days is to take a stroll down to Leith and head for the Lioness.

Though its drink offering and atmosphere is the major draw here, the food in the Sheep Heid Inn is as comforting as it is delicious so pull up a pew near the warm open fire and get ready to order some of their amazing dishes.

For when you want a wee dram to help stave off the cold… Sometimes its not just a warm meal and somewhere cosy we need in this coldest of seasons, sometimes we need a wee dram or two to get us going.

When only a spicy dish will do… In our mind, one of the best new places in the capital and the perfect place to find something hot to keep you warm on a cold day – or morning because the breakfast here are quite simply spectacular.
