Here are all the new Edinburgh restaurants and bars… In Leith, east PIZZAS is a new venture from Roland Simpson and Robert Marshall, two graduates of the six month diploma course at Edinburgh New Town Cookery School.
All their meat and veg will be organic.
Also new to Leith is Mamasan’s which is in the former Isobar premises on Bernard Street.
Heading across town to Stockbridge, Chameleon is a new tapas and cocktail bar on Howe Street.
Looking further into the future, the Fazenda Bar & Grill brand aims to launch an outlet on George Street in early 2018.

I’m less up to date with the comings and goings in Haymarket since my departure to sunnier climes, but I’d heard that Mallow Valley Cheesecake had closed and been replaced by a new sushi place.
The new place, Chizuru Tei, was much more up my alley.
I added good miso soup from a list of three soup options.
With service prompt and friendly, and the interior having been given a suitably tranquil makeover this is a really promising new place.

A relative newcomer, Rodi is dominated by the huge charcoal grill which sends out smoky sweet smells as well as highly piled plates into the dining area.
Mains are mostly along the lines of grilled chicken and lamb, often served with a puddle of smoky aubergine which enhances that charcoal flavour.
