Fox & Co. Caterers

Nicola Slater started the business back in 1993 and soon established Fox & Co. as the only place to buy take away food.

Nicola moved on from catering and 5am starts in May 2006 and kept it ‘in the family’ when her brother, Andrew Fowler, bought over the business.

At Fox & Co. we serve traditional and popular take away food but always keep things fresh and look to try new ideas.

Fox & Co. now runs a thriving outside catering operation from simple office lunches to home deliveries and Saturday night canapé parties.

The Malt House mood blends chilled and relaxed during the day with vibrant and energetic by night, making it an excellent place with a crowd or dinner for two.

With great access to Central London and the South West, our six, sumptuous hotel rooms provide the perfect base for a Capital stopover.

In a cobbled square just five minutes walk from Fulham Broadway tube, the Malt House serves some of Fulham’s best food in its stylish bar, dining room and secret garden.

The menu bristling with foodie signifiers, from monk's beard and nduja to rare-breed meat cooked in the Josper charcoal oven.

Ten years ago, James Rix, former head chef at Soho's Alastair Little and the Notting Hill gastropub The Cow, decamped to East Herts, and set about turning the moribund Fox and Hounds into the perfect dining pub.

Rix, who cooks most services, is obviously conducting a bit of a love-in with his new toy; dishes from it take star billing on his long and sophisticated menu.

The Yorkshire pud, which comes with roast rib of English Galloway beef, is bigger than the head of the child who ordered it (everything on the menu is available in half-portions for kids).

Roast leg of English lop pork is on a scale to satisfy Desperate Dan; not just an inch-thick slab of sweet meat, whispering of rosemary under its brilliantly crisp bonnet of crackling, but a mound of mash, fistfuls of black pudding and a swoony cider gravy.

The Fox & Hounds, London SW1, pub review

Nearby lived Tony Warren, actor and would-be scriptwriter.

His neighbours were mainly servants of the Grosvenor Estate, living in humble houses on a sooty terraced street.

And unlike the rest of the street, it looks as though it has changed little in the 60 years or so since Warren’s planned series, “Our Street”, was rejected by the BBC.

Granada accepted a similar script, albeit with a changed name and location – Salford in Warren’s native North West.

Still, it’s a rum thought that he may have had elements of Passmore Street, Belgravia, in mind when he wrote the early scenes of Coronation Street.
